Introduced Species - This research is just the beginning of an effort to census and catalogue the effects of naturalized plant and animal species in Kern County. Eventually it will include natural histories of each introduction.

KERN COUNTY SENSITIVE SPECIES   -   This list includes official and non-official plants and animals. Not all of Kern County Endangered and special status species are found on official lists. Several species of special concern to local biologists will be found on this list as well as the "official species". With county government demonstrating little regard for reasonable planning, these sensitive species likely will be threatened with extinction at some point in the not too distant future.
