Experience Highway 178 Photo Contest

The Highway 178 Corridor committee is sponsoring this first annual Photo Contest to honor the natural diversity of the region and encourage residents and visitors to the Highway 178 Corridor to participate in educating the public through photography. All Entries must be photos of the natural environment or of people enjoying nature from the Kern River Valley, Southern Sierra in Kern, Tulare, or Inyo Counties.

Although there are images in the professional category - no professionals except the webmaster entered (who is not really a pro). So the only photography entered is judged by content not the photographer. The webmaster for this site Alison Sheehey, aka Nature Ali, placed her photos on the page to celebrate the beauty of the area, with no expectation of reward.

Voting was conducted via the Experience 178 polling function. Polls were open as soon as all entries were received. The Experience 178 group is moderated to prevent spam and ballot stuffing. One vote per person per category. Voting concluded on November 30, 2007.
